The kids have found the Netflix refresh of Voltron. I was never a big Voltron fan when I was a kid. Star Blazers and Transformers were my thing. That said, they have done a good job with this. The voice talent is exceptional. Rhys Darby, Tyler Labine, Kim Brooks, and Steven Yeun and Norman Reedus from the Walking Dead. Animation is good and the storylines are solid.

Good to hear. I have a feeling if this upcoming Power Ranger’s movie performs exceptionally well and Lionsgate can turn it into a cinematic franchise like Transformers, then we’ll probably see a Volton movie within the next 6 years.

I’ve watched it and it seems like it aimed for a middle target audience, but I’m not sure who that is. As someone who watched the original on TV it doesn’t do much for me, while they did hat tip a few things so much of what I remember is gone or very different.
I’m glad I kept the original series on my media server.

Never watched the original series, so I had zero expectations going into it. I have enjoyed it so far, despite being a very cynical 33.
However, given the basic plot points are the same as the original series, the Japanese had some really good shit in the 80s. How else does one come up with a series involving mystical mechanical lions that are also interstellar spaceships that can join together to form a gargantuan metal samurai.
Where can I get some of that?

Most of the original episodes are on Youtube, I found this version of episode 1 easily but its a pretty bad capture I’m sure you can find better if you look.
